He suggests that as the mass extinction of the natural world is among the greatest self created threats humanity faces, with the rate of extinction at least 1,000 times higher than at any time in Earth’s history.
The project explained in detail in his book, Half-Earth, offers an enormous solution to an enormous problem - that we save half the land and sea on the planet for nature, which would have the effect of protecting 85% of current species from extinction.
In conjunction, The Half-Earth Project campaigns to build collaboration between experts, raising conservation efforts to a new level while enhancing our abilities and resilience.
